Over 85% of web traffic is directed through internet search engines and directories. Getting a listing on one of the key engines (Yahoo, Excite, Altavista, Google, Hotbot, Ask Jeeves, Lycos) can be difficult. More importantly getting in the top 50 results for any given search word can be almost impossible unless you are prepared to pay for a particular position.
What we can do
When you subscribe to our search engine submission service the following steps will be taken to maximise the chances of a ranking:-
You will provide a Title which we add to the coding behind your key web pages - up to 10 carefully chosen words to describe what your website is about
You will provide a Description which we add to the coding behind your key web pages - a sentence of up to 18 words (no commas) to describe what your website is about
You will provide up to 30 'keywords' which we add to the coding behind your key web pages - choose the expressions that people might search under (e.g., family butcher)
We will optimise the design of your website so that search engines can obtain the information they need to index you
We will submit your website to the key engines and directories once a month for a year
Search engines and directories can take 2-3 months to add your site, and there are never any guarantees that your site will be listed.
What can you do?
Search engines will rank your site higher if other sites have links to it. Arrange reciprocal links with other appropriate websites
Publicise your website address on all your stationery, business card, shopfront, advertising etc so that your potential customers see it
Add an automatic 'signature' to your outgoing e-mails letting people know your website address
