Developing
Entrepreneurial Business Ideas - an update.
A year ago we proudly, if prematurely, announced
the arrival of the School's first entrepreneurship short (15 point,
3 month) course - the mainly online Developing Entrepreneurial
Business Ideas. We had not, however, allowed for the
interminably slow approvals process. With the final proofs of the
Workbook and Course Guide now out of the way, and the Website under
construction (where all the Activities and Case Studies are to be
found), we are now confident that the course will be ready for its
first students this coming February.
When we first announced our plans for a series of
entrepreneurship course, we were gratified by the strong response
from alumni. Indeed, a number of alumni were able to help with case
studies and critical reading. We also hope that the course will
offer good value as CPD and as support for alumni who want to start
their own businesses. Previous surveys and the response from Alumni
at the recent Barcelona event suggest that this could be around 10
per cent. We are also still in the market for case studies. If you
are interested in registering for this course then please go to http://www3.open.ac.uk/courses/bin/p12.dll?C02B722
for details and registration. The UK fee is £630.

| This newsletter's purpose is to keep you updated
on news about the OU/OUBS and its various products, the alumni
association, offers and affinity deals, alumni events and just
about anything else that you request. Offers have been selected as
appropriate for our readership. The companies and people offering
them are not necessarily connected to or endorsed by the OUBS. |
We would also like
to receive news from you (with web links) that I can circulate to
the rest of the association. You will see that many of the items
link you back to the alumni web site at www.open.ac.uk/
oubs-alumni
where you will also find the news site, events listings as well as
the on-line membership directory. If you are not there it is
probably because you have not opted in and we need your permission
and signature for data protections reasons. Email oubs-alumni@open.ac.uk
