Happy New Year from Wiley!
“True success is not just getting what you
want in life – it’s liking what you get.”
Douglas T. Hall and Dawn E. Chandler, Psychological Success: When
the Career is a calling (Journal of Organizational Behavior,
Vol 26, issue 2)
New Year – new career? The New Year is
traditionally a time to reflect on past achievements and assess
goals and aspirations in all areas of one’s life. When faced with
the January blues, often one’s thoughts turn to ideas of a
different or more rewarding career. Douglas T. Hall and Dawn E.
Chandler’s article ‘Psychological Success: When the Career is
a calling’ published in the Journal of
Organizational Behavior examines the relationship between
subjective and objective careers, and explores the added presence of
a sense of calling within a career that deepens an individual’s fulfilment.
